Job Description Wesley College Melbourne, a school of the Uniting Church, established in 1866, is one of Australia's leading co-educational independent schools. With 3,400 students from ECLC to Year 12 across three metropolitan campuses, outdoor education sites and a residential campus at Clunes, the College offers a rich and holistic education. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Acquisitions Librarian to manage the efficient acquisition and cataloguing of print and digital resources across the College. This is a full-time, fixed-term long service leave coverage from 11th May to 25th September 2026. Reporting to the College Head of Library Services and working within the Systems Team, this College-wide role supports library and teaching staff to ensure timely purchasing, accurate financial management, and high-quality bibliographic records aligned with curriculum and operational needs. Regular travel between campuses is required. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end acquisitions for print and digital resources, including teacher reference materials Oversee budgeting, purchasing, invoicing, and financial reconciliation for library resources Liaise with vendors, librarians, and teaching staff to coordinate collection development across campuses Catalogue and maintain accurate metadata within the Library Management System (AccessIT) Support digital resource delivery, reporting, and the College Book List process Provide training and systems support to library staff About You You will demonstrate: Experience in library acquisitions and cataloguing Strong financial administration and budgeting skills Proficiency in library management systems (AccessIT preferred) Excellent communication and organisational skills The ability to work collaboratively across multiple campuses This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, resource-rich learning environment and play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the College. The successful candidate will hold an ALIA-recognised qualification in Librarianship with demonstrated expertise in systems management. The role requires excellent communication, liaison and negotiation skills, along with strong organisational, documentation and problem-solving abilities.
