ABOUT THE ROLE The Emergency Recovery Support Program (ERSP) provides timely support to disaster-impacted communities across North East Victoria and border areas of New South Wales. Established by the Victorian Government in response to the January, 2026 bushfires, the program is designed to adapt to emerging community and sector needs. This role supports individuals and communities impacted by recent disasters, with a focus on recovery, healing, preparedness, and mental wellbeing. The role provides brief trauma-informed mental health interventions, short- to medium-term case management, and warm referrals to appropriate services as needed. This is an outreach position based weekly in Corryong, with regular travel across North East Victoria. Flexible work outside standard business hours and occasional overnight stays may be required. ABOUT YOU You are a compassionate and adaptable practitioner with qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare, Psychology, Community Welfare, mental health practice or a related field (or equivalent experience), and a strong commitment to supporting individuals and communities recovering from disaster. You bring experience in case management and trauma-informed practice, with the ability to build trust, assess needs, and connect people to appropriate supports. You communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and have a good understanding of the challenges facing rural and regional communities. Organised and proactive, you are comfortable balancing outreach, travel, and administrative tasks, and confident using digital systems. Most importantly, you are motivated by making a meaningful difference in community recovery and wellbeing.
