· Rail Rake Operation · Operate mechanised rail-bound plant across the ARTC network. · Hands-on role with travel – 8/6 Roster! ARTC, one of Australia’s largest rail network owners, is dedicated to shaping the future of transport. Their team oversees the movement of over 430 freight and passenger trains daily across five states, managing 8,500km of track, 39 worksites, and the lands of over 50 First Nations communities. Part of ARTC’s newly formed internal Heavy Plant capability, the Technical Support Officer Operator focuses on running Rail Rakes as the primary duty delivering and recovering rail across the network. Electrical maintenance, testing, and repairs form the secondary responsibilities supporting heavy rail-bound plant. What you’ll be doing · Operate mechanised Rail Rakes to deliver and recover rail across the ARTC national network. · Support resurfacing and maintenance activities. · Perform electrical inspections, servicing, testing and repairs on heavy plant equipment. · Maintain reporting, documentation, tools, spares, and consumables. · Mentor apprentices and contribute to an inclusive team culture. What we’re looking for · Electrical trade certification · Class C driver’s licence · Experience in operating and maintaining heavy rail / earthmoving equipment · Proven experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electronic systems · Strong safety mindset, communication skills, and ability to work both autonomously and in a team.
