Schramm is seeking a dynamic, strategic Category Specialist to lead procurement initiatives in our fast-moving manufacturing environment. We are looking for an experienced person with a strong background in manufacturing to drive sourcing strategies, onboard new suppliers, and optimize current suppliers’ performance. The Role Define and execute category strategies for drilling and reverse‑circulation components and consumables, aligned to internal needs and supplier market dynamics Build and maintain a high-performing, sustainable supplier base Ensure supplier delivery schedules are aligned with production requirements to prevent delays or shortages. Conduct regular supplier visits to assess capabilities, quality systems, and ensure alignment with Schramm standards. Lead cost reduction initiatives and drive continuous process improvements. Manage supplier relationships and oversee contract negotiations. Partner with global sourcing teams to identify optimal supplier and supply chain solutions. Support product development, continuous product improvement (CPI), and supply chain enhancements. Stay ahead of industry advancements by securing access to the latest technologies from key suppliers. About you Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or similar Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or category management, preferably in drilling, mining, or heavy-equipment sectors Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing, heavy-mid-light fabrication, contract negotiation, and supplier segmentation Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with ability to build category workbooks and long-term plans Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
