We’re currently seeking a passionate and reliable Chef to join our kitchen team and help deliver consistent, high-quality Mexican cuisine in a fast-paced environment. Role Overview As a Chef at Mexican Society, you’ll be responsible for preparing and plating Mexican street-style dishes with speed, consistency, and flavor. You’ll work closely with the kitchen team during busy lunch and dinner services, assist with menu execution, and contribute to smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on chef who thrives under pressure and takes pride in producing bold, flavored food. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook Mexican street-style dishes, including tacos, burritos, share plates, grilled items, and fresh accompaniments. Maintain consistency in flavor, portioning, and presentation across all services. Assist with menu development, specials, and seasonal items aligned with the restaurant’s concept. Uphold high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization. Manage prep, stock rotation, and service workflow to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Support and guide junior kitchen staff, contributing to a positive team environment. Assist with functions, group bookings, and high-volume service periods. Qualifications and Experience Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent). Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen. Experience with Mexican or Latin cuisine is highly desirable; strong all-round chefs willing to learn are encouraged to apply. Solid understanding of fresh ingredients, spice balance, marinades, and grill-based cooking. Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume service environment.
