This is a wonderful opportunity to join a passionate and high performing environment. This position is a full-time, 12 month maternity cover contract. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning journey of gifted and high‑potential students. This role blends small‑group instruction, co‑curricular leadership and collaborative planning to ensure highly able learners are challenged, supported and visible within the school community. Responsibilities Oversee and deliver extra‑curricular and co‑curricular programs designed for gifted learners across K-6. Teach small groups of identified students, providing extension, enrichment and accelerated learning opportunities. Manage individual cases of gifted students, including academic, social and emotional considerations. Support classroom teachers with strategies, differentiation approaches and programming for highly able learners. Contribute to assessment, identification and tracking of gifted and high‑potential students. Liaise with parents, external specialists and colleagues to ensure holistic support for each learner. About the candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with deep expertise in gifted education and a passion for nurturing high‑potential learners. They bring strong pedagogical knowledge, a collaborative mindset and the ability to design innovative learning experiences that challenge and inspire. The suitable candidate will possess Demonstrated experience and success in gifted education, ideally supported by postgraduate qualifications in the field. Proven ability to design and implement effective strategies for high‑potential learners, including differentiation and enrichment. Experience leading or coordinating co‑curricular and academic programs suited to gifted students. Strong capacity to mentor and support colleagues in improving practice for highly able learners. Relevant degree, teaching qualifications, NESA accreditation and a valid WWCC. A collaborative, innovative educator with strong rapport‑building skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
