The Role Food brings immense joy and comfort to our residents, and we are seeking an experienced, reliable Cook to lead this daily experience. You will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking nutritious, high-quality meals tailored to individual care needs. Working cooperatively with our care staff and management, you will play a vital role in supporting resident well-being through exceptional food safety, consistency, and dietary compliance. Key Responsibilities Prepare, season, and cook a variety of delicious meals in accordance with planned menus. Expertly cater to specialized dietary requirements, including soft, minced, pureed, diabetic-friendly, low-salt, and culturally specific meals. Strictly follow dietary instructions, allergy controls, and texture modification guidelines. Examine ingredients for ultimate freshness and manage stock rotation and temperature-controlled storage. Maintain a pristine kitchen environment in full compliance with food safety and infection control standards. Assist management with thoughtful menu planning and the estimation of food requirements. Portion and present meals cleanly, ensuring timely delivery alongside our care staff. Qualifications & Experience At least AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery Proven experience as a Cook in aged care, health care, community care, catering, or a similar environment. Demonstrated expertise in preparing meals for the elderly, specifically managing texture-modified, allergy-related, and medically required diets. Thorough understanding of safe food handling, hygiene, and kitchen compliance. Strong communication skills and a reliable, team-oriented attitude. Roster & Employment Conditions This role operates on a rotating roster across a 7-day week to support continuous meal service for our residents. Shifts will vary and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends based on operational needs. Regular availability for weekends and public holidays is required. Remuneration is paid in accordance with the applicable Award, including penalty rates for weekends, public holidays, and eligible shift times.
