As an Applications Engineer at VAE, you will work collaboratively within the Service and Project teams to design, implement, commission, and optimise building automation systems and integration platforms. Your focus will be on delivering high-performance solutions using DISTECH controllers within the Tridium Niagara framework, supporting systems across Building Management Systems (BMS), ICT networks, software development, cybersecurity, and mechanical/HVAC engineering. Some of the key responsibilities will include: Design, program, and commission building automation and integration systems using DISTECH and Tridium Niagara . Optimise building performance through energy-efficient and AI-driven control strategies. Deliver end-to-end engineering, including design, documentation, commissioning, and tuning. Provide technical leadership and mentoring across project and service teams. Engage clients and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment. Uphold safety, compliance, and quality in all engineering activities. Drive innovation and improvement through continual learning and collaboration Create and maintain Engineering, Commissioning and Installation SOPs, procedures, standards, templates, and examples. What makes you stand out Successful candidate will demonstrate their experience in BMS/HVAC project work in construction and service industry, an understanding of the challenges of working in a dynamic and fast-growing business, and the following attributes: Proven experience in building HVAC, Mechanical & building automation system TCP Qualified or higher on the Tridium Niagara framework Good written & verbal communication skills and exceptional time management Good Knowledge of OT Networks, communications and Building Interfacing. Degree qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Computer Science or related discipline) Green star & NABER rated project experiences (preferred) Strong interest in building automation systems and operational technology (OT) Understanding of Software Development principles Understanding of Networks and Communications Valid Driver’s Licence Good Knowledge in Energy Management Systems and optimisation Culture Most importantly the candidate will be able to demonstrate how they work within the VAE company values of Energy, Synergy and Success .
