Our three guiding pillars: Unique and Tailored Meaningful and Respectful Play-Based and Relationship-Focused About This Role The Psychologist provides warm, evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic support to children, young people, and their families. This role delivers psychological assessment, intervention, and family support grounded in play, co-regulation, and strengths-based practice. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to offer holistic pathways that celebrate each child’s identity, build their confidence, and nurture emotional wellbeing. This is a deeply relational position suited to someone who is reflective, compassionate, creative, and committed to delivering respectful, child-centred care. Key Requirements : Strong therapeutic experience with children, teens, or families. Demonstrated commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based practice. Experience delivering play-based, creative, or relationship-centred therapy (e.g., ACT, CBT, DBT-informed, DIR/Floortime, child-centred approaches). Experience working with emotional regulation, anxiety, identity development, trauma-informed care, and school-based concerns. Confident in writing clear, sensitive, evidence-informed reports. Effective communicator with families, colleagues, and community stakeholders. Calm, adaptable, reflective, and warm under pressure. Job Responsibility : Therapy & Clinical Care Deliver individual psychological therapy using neurodiversity-affirming, play-based, child-centred approaches. Support emotional regulation, social-emotional development, identity, self-advocacy, and mental wellbeing. Adapt therapy to meet sensory, developmental, cultural, and relational needs of each client. Develop and review individualised therapy plans with clear and meaningful goals. Assessment Conduct psychological assessments (e.g., cognitive, behavioural, emotional, developmental, ASD/ADHD contributing assessments within scope). Write comprehensive, strengths-based, accessible reports for families, referrers, and relevant stakeholders. Offer feedback sessions to help families understand results and next steps. Family & Caregiver Support Provide collaborative parent coaching sessions, psychoeducation, and reflective guidance. Communicate with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for diverse neurotypes and family structures. Documentation & Administration Maintain accurate notes, progress summaries, reports, and client communication in the practice management system. Ensure all documentation follows professional, ethical, and organisational standards. Team Collaboration Work closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Counsellors, AHAs, and Admin. Participate in team meetings, reflective practice, and joint planning for clients requiring multidisciplinary input. Support a culture of kindness, curiosity, and playfulness. Community & Professional Learning Develop relationships with schools, GPs, and community partners as needed. Attend supervision, workshops, and professional development in areas such as play therapy, trauma-informed practice, family systems, and neurodiversity-affirming support.
