Procurement Policy & Governance Advisor Contract: 23 February 2026 – 30 June 2026 Full-time hours Hourly rate - $70.31 super We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to support procurement governance, policy development and advisory services within a Victorian Government environment. This contract role will suit someone with strong end-to-end procurement knowledge, excellent written skills and confidence providing advice across the procurement lifecycle. Key Accountabilities Procurement Governance & Policy Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of procurement frameworks, policies, procedures, templates and guidelines Ensure alignment with VGPB requirements and relevant legislation Maintain document version control and governance standards Social Procurement Support the implementation of the Social Procurement Strategy Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including Kinaway, Social Traders and Supply Nation Promote best practice and compliance across procurement activities Advice & Quality Assurance Provide high-quality procurement advice to internal stakeholders and Group Procurement Representatives Support procurement planning, evaluation and contract award stages Review procurement documentation, briefings and detailed reports for quality and compliance Ensure submissions progress through internal approval processes in a timely manner Assist with Secretarial and Ministerial procurement briefs where required Engagement & Communication Contribute to the management of Procurement Community Forums Support communications with procurement specialists, including newsletters, chats and engagement channels Maintain procurement-related content on the intranet and SharePoint Operational Support Respond to procurement enquiries via a shared mailbox, providing timely and accurate advice Assist with supplier complaints and dispute responses Support publication and maintenance of the Procurement Activity Plan Culture & Safety Practice cultural safety by contributing to environments free from racism and discrimination Support inclusive systems and respectful stakeholder relationships Specialist Expertise & Experience Demonstrated experience in procurement governance, including policy and process development Strong knowledge of procurement operations, purchasing and contract management Experience managing procurement transactions with a focus on compliance, transparency and efficiency Proven ability to write clearly and professionally, with high attention to detail Experience in an end-to-end procurement role is highly desirable Familiarity with Victorian Government procurement frameworks and VGPB requirements is strongly preferred Capabilities & Ways of Working Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Applies policy and process guidelines to resolve issues Seeks guidance appropriately and contributes ideas to support problem resolution Demonstrates sound judgement and analytical thinking Policy Design & Development Interprets and applies policies relevant to own work Drafts policies, briefs and business cases using research and stakeholder consultation Gathers and analyses data and evidence to support decision-making Stakeholder Management Builds productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Adds value through practical advice and effective collaboration Manages stakeholder issues constructively and professionally Working Collaboratively Works cooperatively within teams to achieve shared outcomes Shares information openly and supports colleagues when required Contributes positively to team culture and performance At Chandler Macleod, we are committed to fostering a diverse workforce where everyone is welcome.
