The business operates within a longterm design support program for inservice naval vessels and offers strong technical depth,stability and career longevity within the defence sector. Your new role Reportingto the Project Engineering Manager, you will provide seniornaval architecture and outfitting engineering support across complex navalplatforms. This role combines handson technical delivery with leadership, mentoring andcrossdiscipline collaboration. Key responsibilitiesinclude: Delivering naval architecture engineering acrossgeneral arrangement, concept design, weight control, stability,seakeeping, manoeuvring and ship performance Providing outfitting design expertise includingcompartment layouts, structural closures, fire protection, deckarrangements, equipment foundations, ladders and platforms Conductingtechnical investigations, rootcause analysis and solution development Producing and reviewinghighquality technicalreports and engineering documentation Planning and coordinating engineering activities fromconcept through to delivery Participating indesign reviews and customertechnical meetings Providingtechnical guidance, supervisionand mentoringto junior engineers Workingclosely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated designoutcomes Operatingin accordance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements in a regulateddefence environment What you'll need to succeed To be successful inthis role, you will have: ABachelors degree in Engineering(Naval Architecture, Mechanical or related discipline) Proven experience innaval architecture andoutfitting design Background working in adefence, maritime orheavy industrial environment Knowledge ofclassification society rules,flag state and statutory regulations Experience withship structural design,foundations and systems integration Strongwritten skills with the ability to produce clear, structured technicaldocumentation Excellentcommunication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver ina highpressure environment Eligibility to obtain and maintainNV1security clearance What you'll get in return A longterm,stable role supporting majorAustralian naval platforms Asenior technical position with real influence over design outcomes Opportunityto mentor engineers and shape engineering capability Competitivesalary package aligned to experience Work within a structured and wellsupporteddefence program What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to holly.powell@hays.com.au, or call us now.
