About the role As Planning Officer (Open Space) you will be part of the Open Space and Facilities team who are responsible for both strategic and infrastructure level planning for Ipswich’s many and diverse parks and sports facilities. Your focus will be on planning and providing advice on capital works projects for council park and sports facilities. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Lead and coordinate the identification and initial planning phase for council open space related projects, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all project outcomes have been considered. Deliver specialist advice that contributes to the 3 year capital works program and 10 year investment strategy for council’s open space projects, whilst considering preferred project timing requirements. Provide advice and services that contribute to the investment in, and sustainable development of council’s open space networks that form part of the capital works program, and the organisations operational requirements. The development of site-specific master plans, infrastructure audits, land management plans and capital works projects as required. View the position description for more details about the role. About you To be successful in this role you will have: Relevant professional qualification and/or substantial equivalent experience in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or a related field. Extensive knowledge of best practices, legislation, regulations, policies, standards and guidelines relating to recreation, open space planning, landscape architecture, urban design and infrastructure delivery.
