About the Department The Cardiac Investigation Unit at St Vincent’s is an innovative cardiac catheter laboratory with a focus on interventional cardiology. The unit functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team that offers the full range of cardiac diagnostic services. The unit operates, Monday to Friday with an on-call roster operating for the Registered Nurses. About the Role The Grade 2 Registered Nurse, under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager, will be responsible for the delivery of expert clinical care in his/her specific area. The Grade 2 Registered Nurse will be responsible for ensuring his/her own professional development in order to maintain clinical skills and knowledge. Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum). Duties Managing the physical and emotional well-being of the patient Administration of medication in accordance with hospital procedures, protocols and policies Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out in the unit Document, observe and report relevant nursing findings within the framework of nursing progress Liaise with patient, patient’s family, medical and ancillary staff as required or requested Skills, Qualifications and Experience Degree in general nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Current Nursing Registration with AHPRA Cardiology experience is essential Cath lab experience is highly regarded Display excellent communication skills and be competent and confident in managing acute situations in a rapidly changing clinical environment Demonstrate an ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Benefits A focus on wellbeing initiatives, with regular events and programs Confidential, solutions-focused employee counselling A healthy work/life balance encouraged.
