You'll be the essential conduit between engineering expertise and plant operations to ensure operational performance excellence. About the role: Supervise the operation and maintenance of eight wastewater treatment plants, ensuring consistent, safe and compliant performance across multiple operational teams. Act as the key link between the Engineer - Wastewater Treatment and plant staff, supporting effective communication, resourcing and coordination. Provide guidance, problem‑solving and hands‑on support to operational staff, including leading minor improvement projects and coordinating operations during major upgrades. Contribute to training, safety system improvements, documentation updates and input into SCADA/PLC enhancements, with occasional rostered overtime across various plants. Engage with consultants, contractors, government agencies and the community while adapting to varied work environments and stepping into engineering responsibilities when required. We are seeking: A qualified professional holding a Certificate IV in Water Industry Operations (or equivalent), or a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations with extensive experience in the wastewater or water industry. An effective communicator with demonstrated ability to collaborate with all staff to maintain system performance and resolve operational issues. An experienced people leader with proven people‑management skills and the ability to lead and support operational teams. Someone with strong technical knowledge of treatment plant processes, operations, maintenance and the use of SCADA systems, including chemical and biological treatment processes. A safety‑focused individual with solid understanding of WHS obligations and a current Class C driver licence. Availability to participate in a 24-hour on-call roster, with a requirement to live within 30 minutes of the Banora Point, Murwillumbah, or Kingscliff treatment plants for timely emergency response when on call.
