About The Role: The Anaesthetic department is part of Nolan theatre, level 2 at the Mater Hospital. This department strives to provide exceptional patient care and a supportive working environment for staff. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the purpose of the CNE role is to meet the educational requirements of staff at a unit level, as well as carrying out learning and development activities that are required from an organisational perspective. The CNE is responsible for ensuring that nursing staff within the anaesthetic department deliver patient care within their scope of practice, thereby adhering to the policies and procedures of the Mater Hospital and St. Vincent's Health Australia (SVHA). The role promotes a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, enhances clinical capability within the Anaesthetic and perioperative departments and contributes to excellent patient-centred care. About You: Essential: APHRA registration Bachelor’s degree in nursing Minimum 5 years post registration experience in Anaesthetics / Perioperative nursing Ability to demonstrate clinical knowledge in the specific area of practice with a commitment to professional development and clinical teaching. Ability to clinically manage one’s self, and others when required, to create a transformational leadership environment. Desirable: Previous clinical nurse educator experience. Post graduate qualifications in Anaesthetics / perioperative nursing. Experience with quality improvement and accreditation processes. Certificate IV in training & assessment (or willingness to work towards). Experience with policy writing & review. Why Work at St Vincent’s? About The Mater: In this role you will be based at the Mater hospital, North Sydney. One of Sydney’s premier private hospitals. Close by to train stations at North Sydney, St Leonards, and Crows Nest, and buses on Pacific Highway. The only Australian hospital that is a member of the International Society of Orthopaedic Centres. Core specialties include Obstetrics, Orthopaedics including hip and knee joint replacements, bone and sports injuries, cardiology, cancer care and surgery, lung and vascular medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, endocrine surgery, and neurosurgery.
