You will be responsible for: Establishing rapport with parents, their children, and significant others involved in the child’s care, working towards the fulfilment of negotiated parenting goals, especially when managing complex or competing family needs Using a case management approach to support the development of parenting skills, knowledge, and attitudes that address the physical, emotional, social, cultural, and safety needs of children and young people Actively participating in a range of activities and events designed to engage parents who express interest in or are referred to the service Contributing to service reporting by maintaining case notes, recording assessments and plans, and inputting data as required Identifying and providing contemporary, evidence-based resources for parents and other significant caregivers Collaboratively managing a calendar of individual, small group, and community-based sessions, delivered through an outreach model About you We are looking for a compassionate and experienced professional with a strong background in community services and family support. You will bring a Diploma in Community Services (or a relevant field) and a wealth of experience working directly with parents and carers to provide education and support. You will have a deep understanding of family dynamics, child development, and behaviour management, alongside the ability to navigate the complex impacts of trauma on family members. In addition to your technical expertise, we are seeking someone who excels in a collaborative team environment and possesses excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal. You have a clear understanding of the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly the effects of inter-generational trauma, and you are committed to practicing culturally safe and inclusive approaches with all stakeholders.
