Role Overview Based in either Victoria or New South Wales, the Senior Fire Services Trainer is responsible for designing, developing and delivering emergency response training programs to meet organisational, contractual and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will support the development of national training frameworks, contribute to program improvement initiatives and assist in building capability across diverse emergency response teams. Key responsibilities will include:- Designing and delivering emergency response training aligned to contractual requirements; Developing curriculum, assessments and governance frameworks; Supporting training teams with qualification mapping and LMS reporting; Coordinating formal training across multiple locations; Assisting with emergency scenario planning and drills; Monitoring compliance with operational and emergency procedures. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience This successful candidate will demonstrate experience in fire and emergency services operations including Aviation and structural response and experience in hazardous materials and road crash rescue skill sets, with proven capability in technical training and assessment. Candidates must demonstrate broad fire and emergency services technical training skills and experience with instructor experience from recognised state-based fire and emergency services essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, trainers and operational personnel. Experience in high-risk or complex emergency environments will be highly regarded. The role requires a Public Safety Diploma, Certificate IV in Firefighting Operations, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Advanced First Aid, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a baseline security clearance.
