About the role: Jay’s Dairy is entering an exciting growth phase with new, larger premises in Canning Vale. It’s time for the company to take on a full-time Production Manager to oversee the efficient and effective operation of the new manufacturing facility. We’re looking for an experienced, commercially savvy and detail-oriented Production Manager to lead a team of production staff to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of Jay’s Dairy’s food and beverage products. Reporting directly to the founder, you will be responsible for ensuring the production area operates efficiently and profitably, meets its safety, health, and regulatory obligations, and utilises the equipment and people optimally. It will see you: Managing day-to-day operations of the production facility Scheduling, allocating resources, and complying with quality control Leading and motivating a team of production staff, providing direction, coaching, and performance management Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiency-enhancing initiatives Creating and implementing LEAN processes for cost-effective, waste-reducing production Developing and implementing production plans to meet sales and customer demand Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations Collaborating with other departments, such as supply chain and quality assurance, to optimise production Maintaining optimal stock levels to ensure there are no interruptions to production Reporting on key production metrics to drive continuous improvement. About you: You probably describe yourself as a conscientious, thorough individual who’s driven to get things done without compromising on quality. You enjoy solving problems and seeing the results of your work, and are quite comfortable in a fast-moving, pressurised environment. Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, you are structured, and exercise strong leadership and control over the processes that allow work to get done well and efficiently. You favour an analytical approach to work and production, using your initiative to solve problems and produce plans that focus heavily on optimal utilisation of resources. You like your team to have clarity around their tasks and duties so that everyone can work together to produce a high-quality result. You’re not afraid of holding others to account for the quality of their output and will follow up thoroughly to ensure deadlines are met and rules are adhered to. You make well-informed, data-driven decisions after considering all sides of whatever problem or issue you are faced with. What we can provide: A competitive salary range of between $120,000 - $125,000 plus superannuation is offered for candidates who have demonstrated experience and achievements in the food or dairy industry. What you must have to apply for this role: At least 5 years’ experience in a Production Manager role within the dairy or food industries Strong verbal communication skills to keep the team aligned and on purpose Deep understanding of production and operational efficiency Ability to make commercially and operationally sound decisions Skilled at optimising resources (people, time, equipment, money) to strengthen profit margins A valid Australian drivers’ licence You will be highly regarded if you have also: Experience in quality assurance and meeting health and environmental regulations Developed processes/procedures to streamline and optimise production quotas.
