Senior Designer / Draftsperson – Residential & Medium Density Projects – North West Sydney Location: North West & Hills District, Sydney Residential Builder-Developer | Medium Density Focus $100k - $115k Super – depending on experience Are you a residential building professional with a strong design background? My client is looking for a Senior Designer / Draftsperson to play a key role in shaping high-quality residential and medium density projects. This is a predominantly design-focused role where your design expertise – including layouts, product selections, and buildable solutions will be the primary focus, supported by your drafting knowledge. Multi-residential and project home experience is highly valued, and experience with house and land packages is advantageous. About the Role: Reporting directly to the Drafting Manager, you will work closely with management, sales, and project delivery teams to develop and refine residential designs. Your responsibilities will focus on producing innovative and practical designs while ensuring accuracy in construction documentation and supporting drafting outputs where required. You will also liaise with supervisors to align design with construction methods and manage outsourced drafting when necessary. Key Responsibilities: Lead design development for residential and medium density projects, including layouts, product selection, and practical solutions Prepare accurate plans, planning submissions, and construction detailing Collaborate with supervisors, consultants, and internal teams to streamline project delivery Support quality control and manage outsourced drafting workloads as needed Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture Skills and Qualifications Required: Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in residential drafting with strong design expertise Experience in multi-residential and project home design highly advantageous Tertiary qualifications in Design, Drafting, or Architecture Proficient in ArchiCAD Strong knowledge of the Building Code of Australia (BCA), planning codes, and council requirements Ability to work autonomously and within a medium-sized team High energy, proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent attention to detail Exceptional communication and collaborative skills Why Join?
