As Lead NPI Project Manager, you'll drive the introduction of innovative diagnostic products from late-stage development through to commercial manufacturing. About the Company My client is a high-growth biotech scale-up, with offices in Australia and the USA, with a collaborative, mission-driven team, passionate about transforming livestock and healthcare diagnostics using cutting-edge NASA-licensed nanosensor technology. The Role This is a foundational role in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, where you'll build NPI processes and systems from the ground up while managing complex, cross-functional projects. Reporting directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer you will work closely with the CEO and other members of the executive team to drive product commercialisation. Establish and implement NPI governance processes, stage-gate frameworks and milestone deliverables Develop and manage detailed project plans including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), schedules, budgets, and resource allocation Collaborate with development partners to optimise production methods and establish body of knowledge required for design transfer to CMOs Support coordination of functional teams to promote a culture of accountability and ensure timely delivery of projects within budget Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned across NPI projects Skills and experience 5 years of experience in NPI, product development or manufacturing engineering within medical devices, diagnostics, or related regulated industries Proven track record leading NPI projects from concept through to commercial production launch Strong background in design transfer, manufacturing scale-up and process validation Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and external supplier relationships Experience working in startup or scale-up environments Proficiency in Agile project management methodologies Strong skills in risk management, schedule development and resource planning and coordination Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, biomedical), science, or related technical discipline MBA or postgraduate qualification in engineering, business, or project management is advantageous Six Sigma, Lean, or DFSS training is a plus Benefits Opportunity to shape the NPI function from the ground up in a high-growth biotech scale-up Work with cutting-edge NASA-licensed nanosensor technology Collaborative, mission-driven team passionate about transforming livestock and healthcare diagnostics Flexible working arrangements with Sydney-based office location Competitive salary package N.B.
