Why this role is different This is not a high-volume, transactional estimating role. Each project is unique, requiring a strong understanding of scope, constructability and risk. You will work closely with senior project managers, engineers and directors, giving you genuine exposure to the commercial and technical drivers behind each bid. You’ll be trusted to own tenders end-to-end, contribute to strategic decisions, and help shape how projects are won and delivered. About the role Based in the company’s modern Yatala head office, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates across a range of water and infrastructure projects. From early cost planning through to final tender submission, you will play a critical role in securing and setting up successful projects. Your scope will include: Preparing detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors and margins Reviewing drawings, specifications and scopes to identify risks and opportunities Completing quantity take-offs and pricing schedules Managing supplier and subcontractor pricing, clarifications and comparisons Supporting tender submissions, negotiations and post-tender reviews Assisting with project handovers and budget setup Maintaining estimating databases, cost libraries and pricing tools About you Proven experience as an Estimator within civil, water, infrastructure, mechanical or construction environments Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation Commercially astute with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Comfortable working across multiple tenders and deadlines Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders Proficient in estimating software and Excel Desirable: Engineering, construction management or trade background Experience with design & construct projects Knowledge of Australian standards and contract types What’s on offer This is an opportunity to join a stable, growing business with a strong project pipeline and a collaborative team culture.
