About the Role As Team Leader – Gippsland Regional Livestock Exchange, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Gippsland Regional Livestock Exchange (GRLE), including supervising staff and contractors, ensuring regulatory and accreditation compliance, managing operational systems, and maintaining high standards of animal handling and facility performance. Reporting to the Coordinator, Commercial Property, you will play a critical role in continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement and operational excellence. The role is permanent full-time, 76hrs a fortnight. Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate operational functions of the GRLE, ensuring compliance with relevant Acts, Codes of Practice, and accreditations. Supervise and lead a team including operations, maintenance and casual staff. Manage workforce planning, rostering and performance development. Oversee livestock scanning, NLIS compliance, data integrity and reporting systems. Ensure biosecurity, animal welfare, scales/weights compliance and livestock documentation standards. Develop and implement procedures, reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including industry bodies, contractors and the public. Input into budget planning, reporting, risk management and operational strategy. Skills and Experience Class A Shooter’s Licence (must hold). Current Victorian Driver’s Licence (desirable). Substantial experience in livestock exchange operations or the livestock/agribusiness industry. Demonstrated leadership and staff supervision experience. Strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g. Code of Practice for Saleyards, NLIS, biosecurity). Excellent stakeholder, communication and organisational skills. Competency in Microsoft Office and operational IT systems specific to exchange operations. Well-developed problem-solving, planning and time-management capabilities.
