About the Opportunity Following a recent acquisition, this established Victorian retail and manufacturing business is entering a critical integration phase. With tighter reporting deadlines and higher group expectations now in place, they are seeking a confident, hands-on finance leader to stabilise and strengthen the day-to-day finance function. This is a 12-month fixed term role with a clear mandate: Run BAU effectively. Lift standards. Improve inventory processes. Leave the function stronger than you found it. The Role You will take ownership of the operational finance function, leading a small team and partnering closely with senior finance leadership to improve processes and support broader transformation initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Lead day-to-day finance operations (AP, AR, cash, reconciliations, accruals, payroll tax, BAS) Drive disciplined month-end reporting and tighter deadlines Strengthen financial controls, documentation, and governance Support and embed improved inventory management processes across a substantial stock base Improve stocktake routines and accuracy Collaborate closely with the broader finance team Support ongoing use and optimisation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Identify process gaps and implement practical improvements Coach and lift capability within the existing finance team About You You’re not fazed by ambiguity. You bring: CA/CPA-qualification Proven experience in a Financial Controller / Senior Finance Manager role Strong hands-on operational finance capability Experience in inventory-heavy retail or manufacturing environments A proactive, “get it done” mindset Confidence improving processes without perfect information Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ideal) Strong Excel capability; Power BI exposure advantageous Why Join?
