Senior Solutions Architect – Application Optimisation & Enterprise Solutions – Contract Our client, a national leader in the utilities and energy infrastructure sector, is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to support a broad application and technology uplift program. This role blends strategic application portfolio optimisation with hands-on solution architecture across multiple initiatives, with a strong focus on rationalisation, cost efficiency and future-state design. You’ll play a key role in assessing a large application landscape, shaping optimisation roadmaps and delivering scalable, secure and business-aligned solutions across a complex environment. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Lead end-to-end assessment and optimisation of a large application portfolio including business/technical fit, TCO, capability and value chain mapping and TIME-based analysis, with clear rationalisation and cost optimisation recommendations. Design and deliver solution architectures across systems, applications, platforms, databases, security, compliance and integration layers, translating business needs into scalable and maintainable technical outcomes. Develop future-state roadmaps and architecture artefacts, run design workshops and reviews and produce clear documentation and proposals aligned to enterprise strategy and governance. Partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to influence decisions, manage expectations and drive value-focused, ROI-aware outcomes across multiple concurrent initiatives. The role will be offered as an initial 12-month day rate contract with a flexible hybrid WFH agreement. Base location in VIC, NSW or QLD (VIC preferred due to leadership presence). The skills/experience needed will include but not be limited to: Proven Senior Solutions Architecture experience in large, complex enterprise environments, including application portfolio optimisation work. Strong capability across architecture design, process and capability mapping and modern solution patterns across platforms and integration. Excellent stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels. Commercial and strategic mindset, with a focus on cost optimisation, reuse and long-term maintainability. Up-to-date knowledge of market trends and contemporary architecture practices. Want to apply?
