The Glenorchy City Council is currently seeking a dedicated and capable Multi-skilled Labourer – Roads to undertake hands-on labouring, plant and truck operation duties associated with the maintenance and construction of roads, drainage, and other key civil infrastructure.
What we’re looking for:
In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out a variety of maintenance and construction tasks on roads, drainage, and civil infrastructure. You’ll operate trucks and small plant, implement safe traffic control, read and interpret plans, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. You'll be a key part of a supportive team, contributing to high-quality infrastructure projects that benefit the community.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need hands on experience in civil construction. You should be confident operating small plant and equipment, able to read and interpret plans, and committed to working safely. Strong teamwork, adaptability, and physical fitness are essential, along with a willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.
Position Hours: Full time, 76 hours per fortnight
Essential Requirements:
- MR Class Driver’s License
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Traffic Management Accreditation (RIIWHS205E – Control traffic with a stop-slow bat and RIIWHS302E – Implement traffic management plans)
