This is your chance to contribute to the management of some of NSW’s most iconic national parks in a varied and strategic role that spans the entire state. About the Role In this role, you will: Prepare plans and strategies under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 that guide long‑term conservation, sustainable visitor access and integrated park management across large, complex protected area landscapes. Work closely with Aboriginal advisory groups, communities, experts and statutory bodies to integrate cultural, ecological and social values into planning. Support project milestones, risk management and statutory processes for developing plans of management. Help identify park values, assess threats and develop practical, evidence‑based planning responses for a large, complex landscape. About You You are a strategic thinker who can see both the landscape‑scale picture and the on‑ground realities. You enjoy working in complex environments and have the planning capability to develop robust, practical strategies that deliver long‑term conservation and community outcomes. What truly sets you apart is your ability to think strategically and connect. You engage and collaborate respectfully with communities and Aboriginal groups, and bring an inclusive, thoughtful approach to stakeholder engagement - particularly in a landscape with high community interest and public visibility. You understand the cultural, ecological, social and economic values of protected areas - and you’re driven to protect and enhance them. Essential Requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience. Demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter including contemporary park management issues, best practise, relevant legislation and statutory obligations.
