The hospital works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions in research and education. You will join: A collegial team of 18 geriatricians Dedicated registrars, residents and interns A stable, energetic and genuinely supportive culture Diverse specialist career pathways Strong undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs There is also a clear strategic vision to develop an Older Person’s Emergency Department geriatrician role. The Role Aged Care services include: 106 inpatient beds across three sites 60 acute older persons’ beds 36 subacute GEM beds 10 behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia beds 12-bed GEM at Home service Orthogeriatric shared care (10–20 patients) Consultative inpatient services Outpatient clinics including: Memory Falls and balance Movement disorders Geriatric oncology Continence and pain Optional participation in TAZREACH regional outreach clinics is available. There are also opportunities to pursue research interests and contribute meaningfully to teaching.
