We are seeking an experienced Cable Assembly Technician to join our production team. This role involves preparing, assembling, and testing cable harnesses and electrical assemblies in line with engineering drawings and technical schematics. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience, be confident reading electrical schematics, and have reliable transport to attend site. Key Responsibilities Perform cable preparation including measuring, cutting, stripping, crimping, and terminating cables to specification. Assemble and wire cable harnesses, looms, and connector systems according to engineering drawings. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation accurately. Use hand tools and specialised crimping tools in line with manufacturer specifications. Ensure correct pin configurations, wire routing, and continuity in all cable assemblies. Conduct detailed visual inspections of crimps, terminations, and solder joints. Label and identify cables and assemblies clearly and accurately for traceability. Perform electrical testing including continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and basic functional testing. Complete production documentation accurately and maintain quality standards. Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. Skills and Experience Required Proven experience in cable assembly, wiring, or electronics manufacturing. Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings (essential). Experience with crimping, cable termination, and harness assembly. Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and continuity testers. High attention to detail and strong quality focus. Ability to work independently and within a team in a production environment. Must have own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence. Must have a Police Check within 6 months or willing to obtain.
