About the Role We are seeking an experienced and confident HR Business Partner to take ownership of the HR function for Secom Australia , based in St Leonards. This is not a purely strategic role; this is a hands-on, roll-your-sleeves-up HR position where you will build, structure and embed HR foundations across a 24/7 workforce. You will work closely with the Head of HR while operating autonomously day-to-day, delivering practical, compliant and people-focused HR support across the entire employee lifecycle. For more information, visit: https://secom.com.au/ Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for HR advice across the employee lifecycle Lead end-to-end recruitment, particularly for guards and operational staff Develop and update HR policies, procedures and documentation Support performance management processes and manager capability Maintain and optimise HRIS (Employment Hero) records Assist with Award interpretation and payroll compliance Monitor visas, certifications and compliance requirements Contribute to workforce reporting and HR metrics Support onboarding and structured milestone check-ins Drive engagement, wellbeing initiatives and culture programs Support workforce growth and organisational transition initiatives What You’ll Bring Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related field Minimum 2 years’ experience in a HR generalist or advisory role Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, Awards and IR compliance Australian Citizenship (NV1 eligibility desirable) Experience working with HRIS systems (Employment Hero preferred) Confidence working autonomously in a newly established function Strong recruitment capability and workforce planning exposure High attention to detail and strong written communication skills Resilience and confidence supporting managers through change Experience working with trade-based or operational workforces will be highly regarded.
