The Renison mine is located on Tasmania’s beautiful West Coast between the towns of Zeehan and Rosebery. About the mine It is an exciting time at the Renison underground mine which has recently announced its Life of Mine plan outlining a strong resource plan for the next 10 years. Renison is embarking on a progressive improvement journey to challenge the way we work and optimise our operations. Renison is currently experiencing an exciting phase of development, characterized by a robust "Life of Mine Plan" and an ongoing commitment to capital reinvestment. About the role We are looking for a highly motivated Management Accountant who will be responsible for identifying, analysing, documenting and presenting financial data to support the company’s overall strategic objectives. The roster will be 5 days on 2 days off with the option of an IFA (5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on , 3 days off) located at our Burnie office reporting to our Finance Superintendent. Core responsibilities · Advising management on potential business improvement opportunities · Advising management on potential cost savings measures · Maintaining accurate management accounts via continuously liaising with departments on costs · Assistance with cost analysis work to be performed. · Unit cost analysis and management of variance to budget and initiating investigations to bring back in line with expectations. · Designing reporting tools for management and stakeholders to easily disclose cost and physicals including variations from budget and forecasts. · Monthly capital reporting including variances to budget/forecast and % completion. · Evaluation and recommendation of tenders · Preparation of ad hoc business cases as required About you The ideal candidate for this position will bring a wealth of experience in management accounting or similar roles, coupled with relevant qualifications. An added advantage would be familiarity with mining-specific financial systems, particularly mining enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Proficient in financial management, budgeting, and cost control, with advanced excel skills for data analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting and cost allocation practices within the mining industry. The role also requires excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders. Collaboration is key, and the candidate should be adept at working within cross-functional teams within the mining company, particularly with finance and operations. Strong organisational abilities are crucial to managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate records whilst upholding ethical standards and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive financial information is a non-negotiable commitment.
