Your Role Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is one of Victoria’s largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations. An opportunity as a Therapeutic Practice Lead is available in our Family and Community Services department. The Therapeutic Practice Lead is responsible for supporting and guiding all therapeutic service development and delivery across the Family and Community Services in MDAS. This includes the development of a therapeutic model of care and service delivery specific to Residential and Out of Home Care programs, provision of some targeted individual interventions to children, youth and carers and the support and guidance of therapeutic care teams around vulnerable clients. This role, in consultation with the Geneal Manager of Family and Community Services will maintain a Child Safety focus and ensure that superior practices of care, compassion and safety are delivered to the families seeking MDAS supports. This is a permanent, full time position based at our Mildura office location. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated senior clinical and therapeutic case management and intervention skills. Demonstrated ability to identify gaps in practice and learning regarding children, youth and families and the services they are receiving. Demonstrated ability to work systemically and cross-sectionally to ensure that service delivery for vulnerable children, youth, families and carers is well considered, co-designed and relationally sound . Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff to institute robust learning and development around vulnerable children, youth, family and carers . Experienced in design and implementation of appropriate psychological education sessions and learning materials for various stakeholders. with ability to provide enabling, supportive leadership in a clinical setting. Demonstrated skills in facilitating reflective practice and team consultations. Qualification/s: Bachelor of Psychology (registered), Social Work or a related field with post-graduate qualification. Minimum 2 years’ experience in child and/or family therapy. A recognised qualification in at least one clinical/ therapeutic intervention modality specifically indicated for children and youth.
