About the role Join Mater Research as a full time Clinical Trial Team Lead in South Brisbane, where you will have the exciting opportunity to lead the Surgical / Acute / Neuroscience and Dementia (SAND) Clinical Trial Unit to address the research needs of the local community. This fixed term (12 months) role is pivotal in ensuring alignment with Mater’s strategic research priorities and operational standards. Salary range: $63.62 - $68.04 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing As the Clinical Trial Team Lead, you will be responsible for strategic leadership and operational management of the Surgical/Acute/Neuroscience and Dementia (SAND) Clinical Trial Unit. Key duties include ensuring the delivery of high-quality research aligned with institutional and regulatory standards, driving process improvements and compliance, financial management and workforce planning. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to promote research awareness, participation, and integration into local health services. This position will also include a Project Management role for the INSPIRE National ICU Randomised Controlled Trial. This will involve coordinating project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure the study progresses in accordance with protocol requirements and regulatory expectations. You will oversee key project documentation, manage communication between multidisciplinary stakeholders, and support risk identification and mitigation to maintain project quality and momentum. About you To excel in this role, you will need: Relevant bachelor’s degree and post-graduate qualification with experience deemed suitable by Mater, and extensive critical care experience deemed suitable by Mater. AHPRA nursing registration, without restrictions, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in nursing Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills and experience negotiating and liaising effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders (e.g. patients, families, clinic and non-clinical staff, sponsors, CROs) Demonstrated computer literacy and proficient use of standard Microsoft suite of applications Current ICH GCP certification, with a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the relevant guiding principles for clinical trial activities. And Proven ability to exercise judgement and initiative for actions within a range of procedures, precedents, rules or guidelines. Proven ability to apply lateral thinking to solve problems and identify alternatives, taking into consideration appropriate procedures, precedents, rules or guidelines. Proven ability to coordinate the determination of timelines and priorities in consultation with clients and peers.
