Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services. About the role As an Initial , Assessment and Planning (IAP) Worker , this is your opportunity to provide rapid crisis intervention and interim support to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across Victoria’s West Metro Melbourne region. You will play a key role in assessing needs, developing support plans, and facilitating access to safe, affordable accommodation and community services, all in alignment with The Salvation Army’s values and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing guidelines. Reporting to the Team Leader this is a fixed-term part-time role, ( 22.8 Hours) contracted for 6 months on-site, located in Sunshine, Victoria . How you will make an impact Deliver fast, high quality assessments and short -term support to people facing homelessness Champion The Salvation Army’s Homelessness Stream Model of Care to ensure consistent, values driven service Empower clients through strong, trust based relationships that support informed choices and self determination Connect individuals and families with the right housing pathways, community supports and advocacy Use a strengths based, trauma informed approach to create tailored plans that address immediate needs What you will bring A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, welfare or related field or relevant experience Demonstrated experience in trauma informed client support, intake and assessment, and delivering short term interventions within a homelessness or community services setting An understanding of relevant homelessness service frameworks, trauma informed practice, and sector guidelines, including culturally safe and inclusive service delivery A working Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and client management systems, with the ability to produce clear, well - structured written documentation A valid Employee VIC Working with Children Check and Current Victorian Drivers licence What we offer Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
