About the Role Catholic Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Care Coordinator to deliver spiritual and pastoral support to residents, clients, families, and employees across our Bathurst homes. In this deeply meaningful position, you will provide person‑centred, faith‑informed, and trauma‑aware spiritual and pastoral care to residents, families, and employees. Your presence will nurture connection, dignity, and emotional wellbeing, particularly for residents navigating ageing, grief, dementia, or end‑of‑life experiences. Key Responsibilities Provide personal spiritual support and pastoral care services in line with Catholic Healthcare’s mission. Prepare and lead prayers, reflections, and worship activities, including end-of-life and palliative care support. Support employees through mission formation activities and professional development. Facilitate visits from ministers of various faith groups and maintain reflective spaces such as chapels and prayer rooms. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and respect for all residents and families. About You To succeed in this role, you will bring: Certificate III/IV in Pastoral Care, or similar qualifications in theology/spirituality. Warm and empathetic interpersonal skills with the ability to support people from diverse backgrounds. Experience in residential aged care or home care settings. Experience supporting older people, including those living with dementia. Knowledge of trauma‑informed care principles. Respect for residents’ stories, identities, faith backgrounds, and personal choices. Excellent time-management skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
