About the role An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Infection Management Clinical Nurse to join the team at MHB on a maximum term contract until 29 th July 2026. In this role, you will play a key part in providing advanced clinical and problem-solving skills in the management of staff, patients and visitors to support infection prevention and control practices. Salary range: $54.44 - $58.30 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing You will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership in infection prevention and control, supporting best practice and continuous improvement across the service. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the planning, delivery, and ongoing management of infection prevention and control programs Monitoring, investigating, and managing healthcare-associated infections and organisms of concern Coordinating and monitoring infection control procedures across the facility Providing education, advice, and support to clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, and visitors Supporting staff health initiatives including immunisation programs, exposure management, and health promotion activities Maintaining accurate data, surveillance, audits, and reporting to support epidemiological and quality improvement activities Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to strengthen infection management practices and patient outcomes About you You are a motivated and knowledgeable registered nurse with a strong interest or background in infection prevention and control, and a passion for improving safety and quality in healthcare. You will bring: Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Demonstrated knowledge and clinical skills in infection prevention and control practices Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate, advise, and collaborate effectively Experience or exposure to surveillance, auditing, outbreak management, and staff or patient education Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Postgraduate qualifications in infection prevention and control, immunisation certification, or prior IPC experience (desirable) A current Australian driver’s licence, with flexibility to travel to other Mater sites if required Why join us?
