About the role: We are seeking a strategic, forward‑thinking Senior Finance Business Partner to deliver high‑level financial insight and trusted advisory support across the University. In this influential role, you will partner with senior leaders to shape financial strategy, strengthen decision‑making, and deliver solutions that support VU’s long‑term goals. You will oversee major financial initiatives, provide evidence‑based recommendations, and ensure that financial performance, planning, and reporting are aligned with organisational priorities. Salary: HEP 10 $142,441 per annum 17% employer superannuation Employment Type: Full time, continuing Hours: 36.75 Location: Footscray Park Campus This role operates under a hybrid working model, requiring attendance in the office 3 days per week, with the remaining 2 days worked remotely. Duties: An example of duties you may perform will include: Partnering with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and influence strategic and financial outcomes Leading the development of budgets, forecasts, financial strategies, and performance reporting Providing high‑quality financial analysis and evidence‑based recommendations to support major decision Identifying and delivering cost‑saving initiatives and improvement opportunities. Preparing detailed monthly/quarterly management reports highlighting risks, opportunities, and trends. Contributing to business cases, scenario modelling, and project financial viability assessments Providing leadership to finance team members and contributing to sector‑aligned financial policies and practices.
