An exciting opportunity within our Northwest Regional Operations Unit Contribute to the delivery of on-ground conservation activities, including pest plant and animal management, threatened species and ecological process management, fire ecology, and environmental water and wetland management Enjoy a healthy work life balance with options to work flexibly About the role: As the Conservation Officer, you will work within established frameworks, procedures, and guidance from senior staff to ensure the efficient and consistent implementation of conservation activities within the region. You will provide practical advice and support to Area Ranger Teams to ensure activities are completed safely, effectively, and to agreed standards and assist with coordination and monitoring of contracts and service providers and contribute to reporting and evaluation of conservation program outcomes, including work undertaken by contractors and field-based teams. You'll provide input to regional conservation planning and operational processes, reflecting practical knowledge of local conditions and priorities. You'll engage collaboratively across teams and with partners, including Traditional Owners, government agencies, research organisations, and community groups, to support integrated and sustainable conservation outcomes for the long-term conservation of Northwest region's parks and reserves. We're looking for someone with: Experience supporting the delivery of conservation or natural resource management programs within operational or multi-stakeholder environments. Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, conservation, land management, or a related discipline are desirable. Practical problem-solving skills to identify operational issues and implement evidence-based solutions. Ability to work collaboratively within the regional team to contribute to integrated conservation outcomes.
