We’re looking for a Road Planning Officer to work with our client Main Roads WA on a fixed term contract until June 2026. This part-time role is 19 hours per week based at the East Perth head office. Working with an energetic and high‑performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will involve: Reviewing and updating current Route Development and Management Plan (RDAMP) documents by : Identifying current and future needs, opportunities and constraints to deliver activities along each Main Roads route over a ten‑year horizon, with an outlook to twenty years Analysing the safety, freight, efficiency and performance of each route Conducting key internal and external stakeholder workshops to capture and clarify future planned works for each route Reviewing and updating RDAMPs in accordance with the current template Facilitating stakeholder engagement activities Facilitating meetings and workshops Preparing and reviewing technical planning documentation Applying knowledge of road construction, road planning and road maintenance, including metropolitan road, public transport and bicycle networks Applying knowledge of the Metropolitan Region Scheme and metropolitan planning frameworks What you will bring to the team: Demonstrated experience in road or transport planning, network planning or strategic corridor planning Experience reviewing, developing or updating planning documents such as Route Development and Management Plans (RDAMPs) or similar strategic plans Sound knowledge of road construction, maintenance and operations within a metropolitan road network Understanding of safety, freight, efficiency and performance considerations for road corridors Working knowledge of the Metropolitan Region Scheme and metropolitan planning frameworks Demonstrated ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement activities, workshops and meetings Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, technically robust planning documents Ability to analyse information and synthesise inputs from multiple stakeholders into structured, well‑reasoned outputs Interested?
