About the role Responsible Investment (RI) is a key pillar of implementing Cbus’ strategy, and we are recognised domestically and globally for our approach to responsible investment. The RI Team sets the strategic direction for RI, supports integration of material Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) factors into investment processes, manages voting and engagement activities, and RI related collaborations to ensure ESG priorities are realised. This role sits within the Stewardship team which supports risk management and long-term value creation of our investee companies through active ownership. This Manager role plays an important part in shaping, leading and implementing Cbus’ voting and engagement strategy with listed companies and other stakeholders. It involves collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement engagement strategies, to set and monitor objectives and take a strategic approach to proxy voting As a senior member of the team, the Manager will be responsible for managing multiple initiatives, driving and delivering strategic team objectives aimed at building rigour in the stewardship program and the ongoing development of leading stewardship practices. We are looking for a trusted advisor to our key stakeholders and subject matter expertise developed in a relevant ESG area, with expertise in Australian corporate governance. You have well-developed and proven leadership, influencing, communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills. Comfortable engaging and briefing senior executives. Demonstrate strong communication skills and collaborate effectively in support of members’ best financial outcomes. Proven experience in a senior stewardship or similar role - experience in workplace health and safety, or climate change experience would be advantageous.
