Salary Package starting at: $92,321.86 About the role This position is responsible for working closely with stakeholders (internal and external) on all planning related matters; and evaluating and processing statutory and strategic applications. Duties Key responsibilities include: Assess and process statutory planning applications in line with the Town Planning Scheme and relevant policies. Provide professional support and high‑quality customer service while maintaining strong working relationships. Collaborate with staff across the Development and Growth team and the wider organisation, and offer advice on development applications. Manage development, subdivision, amalgamation, and liquor licensing applications, including preparing planning reports. Deliver timely expert advice for counter, phone, and written enquiries and prepare information sheets. Process planning scheme amendments. Ensure compliance with City planning conditions and Western Australian Planning Commission requirements. Prepare correspondence and reports for planning appeals. Research, develop, and implement policies, and review external studies and policies. Update procedures, execute legal agreements, develop business plans, prepare tenders, and undertake other projects as needed. Highly organised with strong administrative and planning skills, able to manage multiple deadlines with exceptional attention to detail. Sound knowledge of WA planning legislation and related Environmental, Local Government, and Heritage frameworks, or the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge. Tertiary qualifications in urban and regional planning or a related field, or equivalent experience. Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
