We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our team in Hope Valley in a full time position. Applicants must have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role, as well as a relevant trade qualification. You will also be competent in welding of Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium. A forklift licence is ideal but not essential. Key Responsibilities : Prioritise work under direction of the Department Manager Carry out tasks as directed by the Department manager Operate the overhead cranes in a safe manner Packing of goods always to a standard after completion Cleaning machines & equipments Use measuring equipments Complete & record time sheets and job cards according to company standards Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to meet client requirements. Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times. Collaborate with colleagues to optimize production processes and improve efficiency in sheet metal fabrication operations. Qualifications and Skills : Relevant trade qualification Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications Excellent understanding of AS 1554 Part 1 to 5 Follow WPS and pass WPQ Understand heat treatment of materials Understanding of flame correction Understand and apply other preparation requirements Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment for modification, fabrication and repair Must be competent in welding of Steel, Stainless and Aluminium. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines A self-starter with a "can do attitude" and flexible approach in the workplace Good communication skills both verbally and written Ability to work equally either autonomously or part of a team Experience in a jobbing shop environment Demonstrate & encourage safe work practices Work effectively and efficiently with high standards Forklift license desirable Equipped with own tools Reliable transportation Able to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screen Dogging/Rigging desirable but not essential Key Tasks : General steel fabrication Welding FCAW, GMAW and GTAW Carbon Arc Air Gouging Fabrication inspection Fabrication repair scope of works reports Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
