This management consultancy business is actively looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to join their Data and Analytics team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building modern data platforms on Microsoft Azure, enabling advanced analytics, AI, and business intelligence solutions for leading organisations across multiple sectors. You will work closely with consultants, architects, analysts, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement end-to-end data solutions using Azure services. Build and optimise data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks. Develop scalable data models for analytics and reporting. Implement data lakes and lakehouse architectures using Azure Data Lake Storage. Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices. Support real-time and batch data processing solutions. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements. Contribute to architecture design and best practice development. Essential skills: Proven background with data engineering and development. Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and/or Synapse Analytics, Azure Event Hubs. Knowledge of Medallion Architecture/ Lakehouse/Data Warehouse in Fabric. Experience in building data ingestion pipelines in Fabric. Experience in Infrastructure-As-Code tools such as Terraform. Experience in data architecture, data modelling, Data warehousing and SDLC. Advanced SQL experience. Experience with cloud storage concepts (e.g., Azure Blob Storage). Use Microsoft DevOps (CI/CD) to deploy new pipelines or implement changes to existing ones. Expertise in SQL and Python scripting. Experienced with Docker/containerisation. Experience with visualisation tools such as Power BI. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Have a deep understanding of IaaS and PaaS services offered on the various cloud platforms and understand how to use them together to build complex solutions. Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment. The client offers 3 days in office / 2 days from home hybrid working model.
