PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The System & Network Administrator is responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimisation of Hazeldenes ICT infrastructure, including corporate and production systems. This role provides senior technical expertise across network, server, and security environments, and acts as an escalation point for the IT Service Desk Administrator’s. The incumbent will work proactively to ensure high system availability, performance, and security, supporting critical manufacturing operations. The role participates in a rotating on-call roster and may require occasional after-hours or weekend work to meet business requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and optimise core infrastructure including servers, storage, networks, wireless, security, and production systems. Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all network and server environments. Administer core services such as Active Directory, virtualisation, backup, and monitoring systems. Manage network infrastructure including switching, routing, firewalls, VPN, and wireless. Act as an escalation point for complex incidents and perform root cause analysis. Monitor capacity and performance, recommending and implementing improvements. Support disaster recovery planning and infrastructure lifecycle management. Contribute to infrastructure standards, documentation, and technical roadmaps. Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance where required. Comply with company policies, safety requirements, and operational procedures. Participate in the on-call roster and after-hours work as required.
