Indigeco is partnering with a renowned not for profit to recruit an Indigenous Identified Project Officer. This opportunity is open to only professionals who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, as it is a genuinely identified position. This role plays a key part in strengthening cultural safety across specialist services and supporting improved outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You will work directly with Aboriginal staff, communities and sector stakeholders to drive meaningful change, embed culturally safe practices and support statewide project delivery. This is a Sydney-based role with travel across NSW. THE COMPANY Our client is a leading NSW peak body representing a diverse network of community service providers. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Engage with Aboriginal staff, service users and communities to identify challenges and opportunities within the service system Support implementation of projects that strengthen cultural competency across services Promote, monitor and evaluate adoption of a culturally informed best-practice framework across NSW Build and maintain strong partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, service providers and government stakeholders Contribute to policy, advocacy and research initiatives ensuring Aboriginal voices are embedded Deliver projects using sound project management principles, ensuring milestones and outcomes are achieved Facilitate and support an Aboriginal Community of Practice Provide cultural guidance to colleagues to strengthen respectful stakeholder engagement YOUR REQUIREMENTS You identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Experience within homelessness or adjacent community services sectors Minimum 3 years’ experience in Aboriginal community engagement, ideally within homelessness or related human services Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare, Community Work or equivalent experience Understanding of Aboriginal policy, advocacy and sector reform National Police Check and current Driver’s Licence YOUR PERKS Annual Salary range $96,643 – $108,000 Super Not for profit Salary packaging benefits 9-day fortnight with a 35-hour work week Opportunity to influence systemic change across NSW HOW TO APPLY If you are passionate about advancing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and want to play a key role in strengthening cultural safety across NSW, we would love to hear from you.
