Role details The Child and Youth Mental Health Service at the Mackay Community Health Centre Seeking applications from Senior Occupational Therapist or Senior Psychologist or Senior Social Worker or Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis. Your opportunity The purpose of this position is to provide intake, assessment, referral, and treatment to young people who are referred to the CYMHS or present to Emergency. The major focus of the position is to provide an effective and client-focussed response to young people (and their families) experiencing a mental health crisis. The position will work as part of a small team that will be rostered to provide clinical services during business hours, extended hours and weekends. The position will be part of the CYMHS and will sit with this team during business hours. When rostered on for afterhours shifts the position will sit with the Acute Care Team with support and direction being provided by senior staff on the Acute Care Team. About the Team The Mental Health and AOD Service is comprised of eight clinical teams across the MHHS. The Mental Health Service is responsible for the provision of comprehensive, specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum for people with severe and complex mental health problems. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented and are provided in a variety of settings including community, an acute inpatient unit, hospitals and emergency departments.
