The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing are seeking an APS Level 6 Operations Officer. The operations officer is responsible for overseeing The Monitoring and Event (EMAC) Availability Management performance of the external service provider responsible for these services. This includes ensuring the continuous availability and performance of IT services through proactive monitoring, event management, and incident prevention. This role oversees the design, implementation, and operation of monitoring tools and processes to detect and respond to service disruptions in real time. The key duties of the position include Stakeholder engagement: Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, using clear, respectful, and proactive communication. ICT service delivery: Sound understanding of ICT service delivery principles and best practice frameworks, including how they apply in operational environments. Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise, negotiate, and provide advice to a wide range of technical and non technical stakeholders. Independent work & judgement: Ability to work independently under limited direction, exercising sound judgement to manage complex tasks and deliver high quality outcomes.
