Department of Health, Disability and Ageing are seeking a high performing APS Level 6 service design specialist with demonstrated experience in designing end to end services that span multiple service providers ensuring they are integrated seamlessly and are user centric, efficient and aligned to business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), Service Integration and Management (SIAM) practices and architectural knowledge to understand and gather service requirements, design service design packages, technical solutions and process flows in line with business requirements and performance expectations. The key duties of the position include Service management expertise: Sound understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Service Integration and Management (SIAM) principles, and how they support effective delivery of ICT services in a government environment. Service & process design: Ability to support service modelling and process design, including mapping customer journeys and understanding how services function within technical and organisational structures. Analytical & problem-solving capability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to assess design options, identify potential impacts, and recommend practical solutions. Strategic service design: Demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking when designing or improving services, taking into account organisational priorities, risks, privacy considerations, and regulatory requirements. Planning & coordination: Effective planning, coordination, and facilitation skills to support engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Communication & stakeholder engagement: Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with a focus on building cooperative relationships with service providers, partners, and colleagues. Capability development: Proven capability to contribute to innovation and change, support sound decision-making, and provide guidance or informal mentoring to team members when required.
