The Department is seeking an Executive Level 1 Microsoft Cloud Specialist to lead the strategic direction, security and performance of core Microsoft cloud services, including Exchange Online, Exchange On-Premises, Microsoft Teams and Intune. This senior role drives modernisation through automation, code-first practices and improved cloud governance. It provides expert technical leadership, oversees project delivery, and manages relationships with key vendors and delivery partners. The Specialist works closely with Architecture and Cyber Security teams to shape roadmaps, ensure compliance and maintain service reliability. Strong technical expertise, stakeholder-engagement capability and experience leading high-performing teams are highly desirable. The key duties of the position include Act as the technical owner for key Microsoft services, including Exchange Online and Exchange On-Premises (OFFICIAL and PROTECTED environments), Microsoft Teams (including voice and backend configuration), and Intune Mobile Device Management. Lead, mentor, and support team members by providing technical guidance, setting clear expectations, and fostering a high-performing team culture. Oversee the delivery of projects from planning through implementation, ensuring they meet security, compliance, and operational requirements while managing risks and dependencies. Manage vendor and delivery partners, monitor service level performance, and ensure professional services meet departmental expectations. Ensure effective monitoring tools and processes are in place to maintain availability, performance, and visibility of Microsoft cloud services, enabling ITSM, performance, and capacity management activities. Work collaboratively with Architecture and Cyber Security teams to develop long-term strategies, roadmaps, and compliance approaches that align with departmental priorities. Ensure services and technical tools are fit-for-purpose, consistently apply best-practice standards, and support continuous improvement across the cloud environment. Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable information and ensuring solutions align with business needs. Contribute to knowledge and skills transfer across teams by promoting learning, documenting practices, and supporting informed decision-making.
