About the Role This role is responsible for delivering high-quality career guidance, building industry partnerships, and embedding employability into training programs through close collaboration with academic and student-support teams. Working across multiple functions—including Work Placement, Learning & Support, Student Engagement and Future Students— the Senior Careers Advisor will design workshops, create career resources, and coordinate placement readiness processes aligned with RTO and industry standards. As the primary contact for all career-related initiatives, this position also plays a strategic leadership role in shaping processes, reporting on learner outcomes, and laying the groundwork for a future careers team. It is ideal for a candidate who is proactive, collaborative, and committed to enabling strong employment pathways for learners. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and group career guidance to ECE learners, supporting pathway planning, job readiness, and understanding of industry expectations. Coordinate and oversee work-placement readiness, ensuring learners meet RTO and sector requirements in collaboration with placement officers and trainers. Design and facilitate tailored workshops addressing employability, placement preparation, and workforce needs in the ECE sector. Build and maintain strong partnerships with employers and industry stakeholders to enhance pathways into placement, casual employment, and post-qualification roles. Develop and maintain a suite of career resources, including guides, templates, industry information, and online tools in partnership with the Learning & Support Team. Collaborate with academic, compliance, and student-support teams to embed career development and employability within training programs. Lead the development and implementation of a foundational careers strategy for Early Childhood Education learners, informing the future expansion of a wider organisational careers service Act as the primary careers contact, establishing processes, frameworks, and best practice guidelines to support future advisor roles. Collect, analyse, and report on career outcomes, labour-market insights, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement. Provide mentoring and leadership to junior staff or future hires as the careers function grows.
