Job Description YOUR ROLE The Finance, Infrastructure and Digital (FID) directorate supports MACS’ operational and strategic priorities through strong financial stewardship, future-ready infrastructure and digital enablement. Within the School Finance team, the creation of three dedicated School Finance Strategic Project roles, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Strategy and Projects, will support the development of School Finance policy, frameworks and analysis, project coordination, and specialist support on complex initiatives. These roles will partner closely with stakeholders to deliver the financial components of business-critical projects, strengthen reporting and decision-making, and promote consistent, efficient financial management across schools. This opportunity is open to internal applicants only who are currently employed within the MACS Office School Finance team. WHAT YOU WILL DO Support the delivery and monitoring of financial aspects of school-based and organisational projects via strong collaboration with both school finance and office stakeholders ensuring deliverables meet objectives, timelines, and budgets. Support the development, testing and implementation of new financial frameworks, tools and reportingProvide high-quality financial analysis, insights and commentary to inform senior leadership and governance reporting, identifying key risks and opportunities. Participate in project working groups and act as the key liaison between the School Finance team and other central functions, ensuring effective coordination of information flow and requests, and ensuring timely, high-quality outputs. Support the development and maintenance of financial tools to develop long-term business plans for schools, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and supporting financial sustainability. Prepare adhoc financial analysis, insights and commentary to inform reporting to the Senior Finance Leaders, and governance committees, highlighting key performance drivers, risks and opportunities. Contribute to benchmarking activities across schools to identify performance improvement opportunities and support evidence-based decision-making. Provide technical guidance, training and support to schools and team members on reporting, analysis and process improvement, fostering consistency and collaboration across the organisation. Act as an interim Finance Business Partner for schools on an as needs basis. Support the Senior Finance Manager in advancing key initiatives and continuous improvement activities across the finance function. ABOUT YOU Demonstrated experience delivering and supporting the financial components of multi-stakeholder projects, with the ability to monitor performance against objectives, timelines and deliverables in a dynamic and changing environment. Demonstrated ability to support the development and implementation of financial frameworks, tools, reporting solutions and KPIs, contributing to finance objectives, improve consistency and informed decision-making. Proven capability and experience in proactively engaging and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, acting as a key liaison to ensure coordinated and timely outcomes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present clear, concise financial analysis and insights, including identifying key performance drivers, risks, and opportunities. Experience within education or a similar industry in a dynamic, ambiguous, and changing work environment with ability to influence and inform key stakeholders. Proven ability to work autonomously and collaborative in a changing environment. Demonstrated excellent time management skills in prioritising and planning workloads, in order to meet strict deadlines.
